Ministers in the Deaf Community
Our Ministers in the Deaf Community include our Ordained Ministers, Rev Mark Smith and Rev Rachel Wilson, our Lay Reader Diane Colville and a number of other helpers and supporters.
We are also pleased to have the Rev Bob Shrine, previous minster among Deaf People in this area, now retired still living with us and actice in our community , and the Rev Tracey Raistrick, recently ordained and working in a church in the North of Bradford.
Rev Mark Smith :
The Rev Mark Smith recently joined the team in the Diocese of West Yorkshire and the Dales from Derby Diocese where he worked full time as Chaplain to Deaf People
- Mark is also Vicar of St Peter's Rawdon (near Leeds/Bradford Airport)
- He is hearing but has Level 6 BSL. He is also part way through interpreter Training
- He is married to Anna, who is qualified Interpreter and Teacher of the Deaf. She is a senior teacher and responsible for the Teaching of Mathematics at Doncaster School for the Deaf. She is also a Trustee of "Go Sign" a national Deaf Christian Organisation.
- Mark is a keen Paraglider Pilot, amateur magician and fire eater, loves gardening, walking, playing music doing new things . He has 4 adult children and four lovely grandchildren
